Driving tips from Martin
- Keep to 70 km/h: air-cooled engines like it calm, and you get more time for the view.
- Check the oil level every one or two days, in the morning, before starting the engine.
- Crosswinds push a kombi more than a normal car: slow down when it’s windy.
- You sit over the front wheels: on tight turns, pull further forward than you think, like a city bus.
- Fill up with Magna (the green pump) and return the kombi with a full tank.
- No driving on unpaved roads, except to reach licensed campgrounds.
If something breaks
Our kombis are serviced by trusted VW mechanics, so problems are rare, but they are old cars. Call us first: we cover towing, parts and labour to get you back on the road. If it’s serious, we swap you to another kombi if one is available, or refund the remaining days.
