What to do in Tulum?
Live a different day in Tulum, enjoy the nature, for that it is important to get up early, because there is much to enjoy here. The earlier the better so 7 am is a good time! Renting a bicycle and going to see the Cenote Cristal and the hidden one is a good way to start getting to know this magical jungle. Only 3 km for the Chetumal route, you will find both cenotes. Swim in its crystal clear waters, and appreciate nature. Its birds, its plants, its trees that stretch their roots until they touch the water, you will see and feel it in these special sanctuaries. You can bring something to eat or drink and have a beautiful picnic with those you want. They also offer rental of equipment for thermal water, such as vests, and snorkels, although it is better to bring your own. You will find the crystal cenote on your right, while the hidden cenote will be on your left, along a 1 km path it will appear in the jungle.
Very close, just 2 km ahead on the left, you will find the Corazón del Paraíso cenote, especially recommended. A heart-shaped cenote, ideal for snorkeling or diving and seeing its caves or swimming from one side to the other, while you touch the fish, its aquatic plants, mysterious caves. You can also take the opportunity to do Yoga on their wooden decks on the water! Here there is food service, store, bathrooms, rest area, palapas, chairs and tables. Highly recommended to arrive early and do a few minutes of Yoga or meditation on the main deck that forms the heart.
Just 2 km later you also have to enjoy the Cenote Dos Osos, also beautiful!
If you continue along this route, you will arrive at the Kaan Luum Lagoon, just 5 minutes past the Heart of Paradise. (150 Mexican pesos approx) This lagoon is not like the other cenotes, since the water is not cold but warm. Kaan Luum (whose meaning in Mayan is Tierra Amarilla) is a natural lagoon 8 km from Tulum, where you can cool off in its waters, put the mud that is at the bottom of your face, since that helps to repair facial tissues, take photos, feel the fish touch your feet. Even to go to enjoy just half an hour or stay for the day is worth it! In the middle of the lagoon there is a cenote, which the passage is prohibited since it has a great depth of 85 meters and 25 meters in diameter.
Ideal for those of you who have children since it is not so deep where it is allowed to swim, children can make their lives calm.
After Kaan Luum, comes the town of Muyil, which has impressive lagoons where you can see from a viewpoint the beautiful jungle with its turquoise lagoon, spectacular! Right there they offer to do boat tours inside the lagoon, and this is also where you will find one of the best tours you can do in the area so pay attention! From here you can go floating on rubber bands through a channel that connects this lagoon with the Sian Kaan reserve. There you will find any number of birds, and animals that will really surprise you! Right there on the route, there are also the Muyil ruins, by the way very beautiful and worth visiting since it can be done quickly and the pyramids and constructions that there are impressive! Passing the town of Muyil, just 1 km on the right hand side, it has a beautiful cenote-cave to visit! More than anything you do diving but it is also beautiful to stop for a moment, park and get into that underground world, where you will see stalactites everywhere! Arriving at Carrillo there is a lagoon that has lodging for a certain economic good and more than recommended to spend one or two nights in such a beautiful place, isolated from everything like this beautiful lagoon!
